Panama – 2021 Janson Family Gesha Lot 489 – Washed Process

This remarkable coffee comes from the Janson family estate in the highlands of western Panama. The green tip Gesha varietal was harvested on the 15th of January 2021 when the cherries were at their optimum level of ripeness and sweetness. Lot 489 is a traditional Washed process and was fermented for 48 hours before being patio dried for 5 days.

This is a perfect example of why the Gesha varietal grown in Panama commands such extremely high prices. Washing coffee in the traditional way  like this gives results in a delicate, floral, aromatic and vibrant cup. All the nuances of the Gesha varietal are on display.
