Guatemala – Porfirio Martinez – Caturra/San Ramon – Washed
$24.00
Farm: Finca El Senegal
This lot is an outstanding example of Guatemalan washed coffees. Sourced from Finca El Senegal in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, Guatemala and grown at 1,800–2,000 meters above sea level, the coffee benefits from a cool microclimate that encourages dense, complex beans. Porfirio Martinez grows Caturra and San Ramon varieties, and at harvest, he selectively handpicks cherries before pulping and fermented in water, followed by washing and patio-drying for approximately 15 days.
Martinez works with the Vides58 family to export his coffee and connect with international markets. Founded in 1958, Vides58 is a third-generation coffee-producing family known for its focus on quality, consistency, sustainability, and long-term relationships. The family also supports community initiatives, including education and programs aimed at reducing child labor.
Tasting Notes: Crisp lemongrass acidity and dried fruit sweetness with an elegant body, excellent clarity, and a clean, juicy finish.
