Esyas Beriso Arere is a rising star in the western highlands of Guji’s Hambela Wamena district. Boasting some of Ethiopia’s highest elevations and fertile red clay soils, this single-estate lot is an outstanding example of meticulous processing and exceptional terroir. While most lots from this area are sourced from hundreds of small holder lots of .25-.75 hectares each, these beans are unique in being sourced exclusively from Esyas’ own 32 hectare organic farm, Guribea. With 15+ years of experience, he carefully handpicks and slow dries his cherries on raised African beds. His wife Meskerem administrates on the farm, ensuring harvesting happens at peak ripeness.
